Laura completed her undergraduate work in
anatomy/physiology and
graduated from Northern Illinois University with a Bachelor's of
Science (B.S.) in Kinesiology, a minor in Biology and an emphasis in
Cardiac Rehabiliation.
At Jacksonville (FL) Cardiovascular Clinic, Laura completed an exercise specialist internship in which she closely monitored and created therapeutic excercise programs for patients after they received cardiac surgeries. Laura also completed a Kinesiotherapist internship in Chicago, IL and at Washington, D.C. Veterans Hospital.
Laura was involved in the implementation of rehabilitative exercise programs for patients who had experienced orthopedic injuries, amputee patients, and patients suffering from chronic conditions.
In 1993, Laura received her Massage Therapy certification in Chicago, IL and has continued to practice massage therapy and to combine soft tissue work with therapeutic exercise to rehabilitate.
